Who is responsible
Leighton Liam Hepworth, trading as Bytova, is the controller of personal information used to run these services. Contact hello@bytova.co.uk or write to Bytova, 65 Coronation Road, Stainforth, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN7 5EU, United Kingdom.
What I collect and why
| Information | Purpose and lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Your name, email, enquiry and service requirements | To answer questions and take steps at your request before a contract, and to deliver the agreed service: contract. |
| Appointment details, agreed scope, support notes and correspondence | To arrange and provide support: contract. To keep proportionate records and deal with queries or disputes: legitimate interests. |
| Payment status, invoices and transaction references | To administer payment: contract. To keep required financial records: legal obligation. |
| Website connection and technical information | To deliver the website and maintain security: legitimate interests. The hosting provider may maintain technical logs. |
I do not ask you to send passwords, PINs, one-time codes or full payment-card details. Screens or files may be visible during remote support; close anything unrelated or sensitive before connecting.
Booking and payment providers
Calendly provides the appointment calendar. Payment arrangements are confirmed separately by email; a calendar confirmation is not proof of payment. If Stripe is used for an agreed payment, it handles payment details under its own privacy notice. Bytova receives the booking details and payment status needed to provide the service; this website does not collect card details.
The Calendly calendar is not loaded automatically. It loads only after you choose to use it and request the calendar, or choose to open the provider’s site. This shares connection information, such as your IP address and browser details, with Calendly. Provider cookies or similar technologies may apply there. You can email me instead.
Read Calendly’s privacy notice and Stripe’s privacy notice before supplying information to them.
Other necessary sharing
My email provider handles enquiries and appointment correspondence. AnyDesk handles the remote connection and related technical information when you choose to join a support session. GitHub Pages hosts this website and may process connection information in hosting and security logs. Information may also be shared where required by law or with a professional adviser where necessary for business records or a dispute.
I share only information needed for the relevant purpose and do not sell your personal information or use it for unrequested marketing. Some providers process information internationally and explain their transfer arrangements in their notices. See AnyDesk’s privacy notice and GitHub’s privacy statement.
How long information is kept
- General enquiries and routine support correspondence: normally up to 12 months after the last contact, unless needed for ongoing work, a complaint or a legal claim.
- Booking and accounting records: normally six years after the relevant accounting period for business and legal records.
- Remote access details: not retained for ongoing unattended access. Sessions are not recorded by Bytova as a routine part of these services.
Information is reviewed and removed or anonymised when no longer needed. Providers may apply their own retention periods; their notices explain these.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use advertising cookies or a customer account. Optional website statistics, including Google Analytics 4, are explained below and remain off unless you allow them. Fonts and brand images are hosted with the site. Your booking-calendar choice is kept only in the current page and is not saved as a tracking preference. The PHP version checker and remediation wizard keep entered version details and progress only in the current page memory; they do not scan a website or submit those inputs. Downloaded result files are created locally at your request. Advisory update requests use an explicit email draft for this topic only and are subject to personal confirmation; they do not enrol you automatically. The Find Support guide, business-priorities check and project-enquiry builder keep your answers and draft text only on the current page. Nothing is sent when you answer questions, build a plan or copy it. Choosing email opens a draft in your email app for you to review and send. If you choose Send My Private Enquiry, your reply name, email, reviewed message, selected service and route are submitted securely to Leighton’s private enquiry system. A short campaign label from the link you followed may be included with that submission; no browsing history or tracking identifier is stored. External booking and payment providers may use their own cookies after you choose to use them.
Conversation assistant
Alex uses Bytova’s published service information to help you choose a route. After you interact, recent chat text and choices stay in session storage on this website in this tab for up to six hours. Close the tab or choose Forget this chat to clear them. Chatting alone does not send an enquiry, create a booking or share the chat with an external AI provider. You can copy a brief and separately submit it through the enquiry form. Movement can be paused and respects reduced-motion settings.
Customer area and business records
The dedicated Bytova customer area uses ChatGPT sign-in to link your requests to your account. It stores the requests, agreed appointments, quotes, conversations and files you choose to share with Bytova. Customer accounts can access their own records; private owner notes remain hidden. See customer area privacy information.
Website enquiry forms and follow-up
Direct enquiries are processed by the same controller through a dedicated Bytova business inbox hosted at bytova.taccountant.chatgpt.site using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. They are not published and do not create a RetroReplay UK account or a marketing subscription. The information is used to answer the enquiry and take steps you request before a possible contract. Private owner notes, a response stage and a follow-up date help me manage that request. An optional short campaign label helps identify which route brought the enquiry; this is not a site analytics service.
The dedicated enquiry service records the enquiry for Leighton to review in the private dashboard. No automatic owner alert, customer acknowledgement or marketing email is sent by this form. General enquiries are normally kept for up to 12 months after closure or the last contact, unless needed for ongoing work, a complaint or legal records. Use the contact details above to exercise your rights. You can email directly instead of using the form.
Repairs and project information
Repair records may include the device model, reported fault, agreed work and checks. Projects may involve the content or system information needed for the agreed job. Access to devices, accounts or files is limited to the agreed purpose and permissions; do not include private customer records in an initial enquiry. Any necessary third-party processing and access arrangements are agreed before the work.
Optional website statistics
Statistics are off unless you choose Allow statistics. Privacy choices lets you change that at any time. We store that choice on this device as business-statistics-choice-v1 for up to 180 days. With permission, the shared private service at retroreplay.uk counts public page paths, selected actions and known campaign labels in daily aggregates for up to 90 days. The Google tag and our optional analytics events load only after you choose Allow statistics. If you decline or withdraw, optional measurement is disabled. Security response pages use the same Google Analytics configuration after consent; they are not sent to the shared private statistics service. If you allow statistics, Google Analytics 4 measures consented page views and selected actions. Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information and page URL and may set analytics cookies. Google signals and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled in our configuration. Form text, names, email addresses and private enquiry contents are not sent as analytics events. Essential contact and booking features work when statistics are off. Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contract and legal-record requirements may mean some information must still be kept.
Email hello@bytova.co.uk to exercise a right or raise a privacy concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. I do not make solely automated decisions with a legal or similarly significant effect about you.
